A WINNING START TO 2017

Here, at Ippon Gym, we started the New Year with a bang and a winning streak from the MMA and Muay Thai team.

First up were Sally McCarthy and Tommy Barlow, both fighting at the Rampage show in Kent. Sally took the chance to step back into the ring after a 3 year break and fight for a WBC National Title (52 kg) against a very technical Yasmin Nazary. The hard work, sweat and tears from fight camp paid off and Sally won by KO in the 2nd round, stopping Yasmin with a head kick. You can watch her in action below.

Tommy demonstrated a class act of technical Muay Thai winning the fight by unanimous decision.

Last weekend, on 11th of March our MMA coach and brown BJJ belt holder Andy Kerr retained his Shock n Awe Welterweight title against Chay Ingram by 10 finger choke in the 3rd round. Andy remains unbeaten is his last four visits to the cage and with his strong, south paw stand up and skilled ground game, he is a daunting prospect for any opponent brave enough to share the cage with him.

Shock n Awe also saw Adam Conroy finishing his MMA bout with another strong win for Ippon.

Lastly, Mason Hobbs won his boxing bout against a strong Rikki Beale by unanimous decision at VCBC (The Vantage Charity Boxing Challenge) event at 02 Bournemouth. Mason is only 18 but his passion for this sport and determination earned him 9 wins and only two losses in 3 years of training.

Next up, we have Molly McCann Fighting at Cage Warriors in Liverpool on April the 1st. Her opponent is yet to be confirmed but Molly is ready to face whoever Cage Warriors throw at her. We have no doubt that molly will come back with another win for Ippon.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
